The Roomba 690 features the more advanced Dual Mode Virtual Wall Technology.  The 650 Virtual Wall will allow you to block off an opening to a room you don’t want the Roomba to enter.  The Dual Mode on the 690 features that as well as a halo barrier where a halo about 24 inches from center will protect something on the floor like a water bowl or a corner.  Learn more about Dual Mode Virtual Wall Technology here.

Unique to the Roomba 690 is compatibility with the iRobot HOME app and can also be operated with Alexa and Google.  The HOME app is available for both iPhone and Android.  It allows you to start cleanings from anywhere, monitor status of your Roomba, schedule cleanings, customize cleaning preferences, and more.  The App will only work with 2.4 GHz networks and not 5 GHz networks.  Click here for more info on the iRobot HOME App.
